Zora Neale Hurston is the author of four novels, two books of folklore, an autobiography, numerous short stories, and several essays, articles and plays. The most popular is “Their Eyes Were Watching God.” She is also known for her studies in Hoodoo.

Not well compensated for all of her literary achievements, Ms. Hurston died penniless. A collection was taken to bury her. She did not have a gravestone until 1973 when another author, Alice Walker, bought a headstone for her. You can read more about Zora Neale Hurston on the official webpage Zora Neale Hurston.
